The Big Band Theory are a premium 4 piece band specialising in high-energy music for weddings, corporate events and private functions, pubs/clubs – at a sensible price. We pride ourselves on having a “cooler-than-average” song list that is never cheesy, and focuses squarely on filling your dance floor.
Everyone’s musical taste is different, and an event like a wedding is multi-generational. That is why we work closely with our clients to craft a set list that is unique to their event and that all their guests, young and old, will enjoy. It helps that we have a song list that spans nearly every genre and contains hundreds of songs. So, leave it to us, we’ll come up with a set list that reflects your individual tastes and style.
Pricing is all-inclusive, with no hidden extras. The Big Band Theory have no smoke and mirrors. Just genuine, pro-grade musicians, playing real music.We are nothing less than meticulous through the planning stages. You get rock-solid support, and our experienced planning team- this is the reason that some of the biggest event planners in the country keep coming back to us.You will be safe in the knowledge that you don’t need to worry about a thing. We will be there to cue the perfect entrance, then later on get that party jumping….!
We travel nationwide and have also played weddings abroad in France, Spain, Italy, Canary Islands, London, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh.

This is where we really shine – amazing dance parties are how The Big Band Theory have earned their fantastic reputation! We pride ourselves on our high energy, and flawless performance – it’s all about great preparation and a genuine love for what we do to ensure you have the best night of your life.
Discuss your first dance options with us – we can perform your dream song, or if you want to dance to the original recording we can help facilitate the timings then move into live dance music straight after.
We’ll even secretly take a call from your best friend to secretly organise a surprise flash mob dance… Anything for your special day!
Also we provide our own DJ service for afterwards and this is a seemless transition at the end of the night so there is no drop in music or atmosphere.

The WBA promotes exceptional professional and ethical standards in order to inspire customer and client confidence and enhance the reputation and interests of the Association and its Members.
Rules and standards have been set out by the WBA which all members follow and in turn, will give couples a sense of security when booking a WBA membered band.

We have completed a Covid-19 Compliance Officer Awareness Course because we know how important it is to protect everyone’s health & safety during these times. As a professional band we feel it’s important to be educated on all aspects of safety for all venues and events that we cater for.
FAQS
How long do you perform for?
In total we perform for 2.5 hours not including a break when the hotel serves refreshments.
Also We can be fully set up and ready to go in 60 minutes.
Can you set up before the meal?
Although in most cases this is not necessary, we can be set up before the meal if that is what is desired. As this requires everyone to be on-site earlier in the day than would normally be necessary, a small additional fee is required, details of which can be received at time of booking.
Can we decide the setlist?
It’s your night and we do welcome suggestions for songs that you like or don’t like, and create a setlist for your night that fits in with the atmosphere you want to create. With that in mind it is generally best to leave the majority of the song selection up to us. We will play popular wedding songs that will keep the dance floor filled all night.
Can we choose the first dance songs?
You can choose your first dance to be played by the band. If the song is new to us we will do our best to learn it but we would require at least 1 months notice in order to be sure to do your first dance song justice.
How long does the DJ play for? Can I pick the playlist for the DJ?
The DJ will play for approx 2.5 hours. (venue permitting)
Yes. Our DJ encourages you to give him a list of songs you like, so that he may incorporate them into the playlist.
Do you require a deposit?
We require a booking deposit to secure the date. Until the deposit has been paid, we cannot guarantee your date.
The deposit is non-refundable.
